South Asia frequently experiences natural disasters such as floods, cyclones, landslides, and earthquakes. Indigenous communities living in remote rural and forest areas are among the most vulnerable groups during these disasters.
Due to poverty, geographic isolation, and limited access to government services, many indigenous families face severe food shortages immediately after disasters. Lack of transportation, damaged infrastructure, and loss of livelihoods further worsen their situation.
Emergency food assistance is therefore essential to ensure that affected families have immediate access to basic nutrition and survival support.
